The origin story

I learned business by building businesses.

After high school, I worked a number of jobs. None of them were bad experiences exactly — but none of them felt like mine. Doing that work made one thing clear: I wanted to create something of my own.

So I started building businesses.

I picked company names. I created brands. I registered domains, built websites, set up social profiles, and worked out how to give a new business a real presence online. Then came the harder part — getting customers to find it, trust it, and buy.

Not every business I started became a long-term business. That part matters.

Some ventures didn't last. But each one taught me something about branding, marketing, customer acquisition, and the day-to-day decisions that actually move a business. And I noticed that I kept coming back to the same work: building and growing businesses.

Eventually I realized other entrepreneurs needed help bringing all of those pieces together — branding, websites, marketing, customer acquisition, business decisions, and ongoing management. Most owners were trying to juggle all of it alone.

That realization became the foundation for Ranked Brands.

Today I work with entrepreneurs at very different stages — people starting from nothing and businesses looking for their next stage of growth — on the strategy, priorities, and execution that get them there.

What I learned building businesses

Five things the work taught me.

  1. 01

An idea is the easy part.

Execution determines what actually gets built.

  2. 02

    Customers have to find you.

A strong offer still needs visibility and trust.

  3. 03

    Marketing isn’t the whole business.

Systems, operations, and decisions matter just as much.

  4. 04

    Growth creates new problems.

What worked at one stage may not work at the next.

  5. 05

    There’s no substitute for follow-through.

    Consistent execution is what compounds.

Personal coaching philosophy

I believe ambition should change how you live — not just what you earn.

The same things that build a business build a life: meaningful goals, the discipline to work toward them, and the responsibility to own your decisions.

In my experience, confidence doesn't usually show up first. It comes from action — from making a decision, following through, and seeing that you can. That's true whether the goal is starting a company, changing careers, or finally committing to something you've been putting off.

My coaching is grounded in entrepreneurship and practical goal-setting. I'm not a therapist or a mental-health professional, and coaching isn't a substitute for that kind of care.
